Visitors see every room including the 18th Century kitchen.

Totally unchanged since Civil War Days! Battle scars and shell fragments still remain.

 

The original pre-war strolling gardens date from 1849 and were the scene of a famous murder, a confederate campsite and field hospital.

 

More Civil War artifacts on display than any other home, all original to McRaven grounds.

 

Period weaponry on view.Furniture by Mallard and Belter; along

with a Flying Wing Staircase, Jib doors, floor to ceiling windows, carved millwork, elaborate plaster friezes, and ceiling medallions grace the entire 1849 section of the house.

 

Original Art Work by: Antoine Watteau, LaFosse, Thomas Ward, John James Audubon, and Currier & Ives. Sculptures by John Rogers, one of America's most popular artists of the mid-nineteenth century.

 

Signed pieces of Sevres Porcelain that belonged to Louis Philippe, King of France.

 

Extensive display of period needlework and jewelry throughout the house18th and 19th century utensils and tools outfit the original
